I am the Bread of Life

We are about to hear a lot about the Bread of Life from John’s Gospel. Jesus contrasts the manna that was given to Moses and the people with the Bread of life that is his body which fills us forever. The promise of Jesus that we will never hunger or thirst if we go to him is powerful and it would be hard to know why we wouldn’t embrace that immediately. Yet our human freedom and condition means that we need to keep choosing this. Let us savour the richness of this promise today.
