Sin and sinfulness

Today is a day to reflect and realise that God sees all, not just the sin that is obvious in my behaviour. God sees the roots of sin. So often we do not see them because pride clouds our self-reflection and often our prayer reflection too. Getting to the root of sin is a painful process of getting to know my pride. Standing humbly, alone before God, I will find like Elijah that God’s mercy feels like a gentle breeze on my bruised and naked self.
