Love God’s law

Jesus’ respect for Jewish law is obvious – he reveres his Father and his Father’s name, keeps the Sabbath holy, respects his parents and while merciful with sinners, is insistent that we protect life and are honest in our personal and public lives. Nonetheless, he made up his own mind about when it was appropriate to break them – helping animals out of ditches on the Sabbath was one such example.

Lord, may I follow your example in keeping your Father’s law. It is my shield from harm and my sanctuary.
