We’re no greater than we are within the four walls of our homes
Jesus tells us to ‘try to enter through the narrow gate.’ We know from John the gate is Christ. We recognise airport gates, where carry-on luggage is controlled. Our lives are meant to be controlled by Christ so we mirror his love. The kingdom invites us to let go preoccupations, trust God and not fret about our spiritual progress. Mother Teresa said we’re no greater than we are within the four walls of our homes. That’s a narrow place to practise simple daily practical acts of compassion, mercy and kindness with self-forgetting love. It’s our place to grow in holiness.
