Ecclesiasticus 2: 1-13, Ps 36, Mark 9:30-37

Lord, by your holy cross you have redeemed the world

Christ’s willingness to die a hideously painful and shameful death for us is an example of perfect humility. How can we imitate him? We can pray for grace, which is God’s presence and action in our lives, and to recognize it for what it is so we can serve others, helping them for the love of Christ to carry their crosses.

Brother, sister, let me serve you, Let me be as Christ to you, pray that I might have the grace to let you be my servant too.
