Prayer, alms giving and making sacrifices are personal matters between ourselves and God, for the good of others. Holiness in this way requires us to unite our intentions with God’s will, without seeking praise. Rather, we should praise God for the opportunities he provides to love him and our neighbours.

Lord, may I work today as your unseen hand, with joy because you have asked me to help you.
