Isaiah 30: 19-26, Ps. 147, Matthew 9: 35 – 10: 1, 6-8

Mother of the teacher

Mary,

Mother of the teacher,
hiding him in your womb,
anguished, we await his coming.
Release him to us soon

Open my ears to listen;
awaken my heart to heed.
He will show me the way.
May I follow where he leads.

May I help him gather his harvest
May I search for the sheep lost.
Giving freely as I received,
not pausing to count the cost.

As we sit with Mary in this time of her pregnancy,
let us remember that the son she bears
is the saviour of us all. We who claim to be
his disciples are missioned to take this good news
to others.
