Called to serve

Jesus tries to prepare the disciples for the Passion, for his death and resurrection, with prophecy, but the reality was too shocking. It is one thing to know what is to happen and another thing to experience it. Yet even simply knowing of his future suffering, for Jesus, it must have been a burden to carry. But he did this willingly. Jesus is the servant king and he teaches us, by example, to do the same. To drink of the same cup, to be a Christian and follow Christ, is a true challenge for each one of us.
