Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church (M)

Hail Mary, full of grace

Mary responded to the invitation to be the mother of God with her “yes,” that echoed throughout all of her being and all of her life from that moment on. The graciousness of her “yes” is a wonderful example to the rich young man, as well as to us in our time, of how to respond to the question “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” How do I respond to Jesus’ invitation to “Come, follow me?” Let me think on that today. Am I, like Mary, able to give a whole-hearted “yes” to God?
