It is true

Two events in Jesus’ life particularly challenge and define our Christian faith. They are our belief in his resurrection from the dead and in the transformation of bread and wine in the Sacrament of Eucharist. The gift of Christian faith enables us to believe that both are true. Like the disciples on their journey to Emmaus, our hearts burn within us whenever we encounter Jesus risen from the dead or whenever he breaks bread with us at the Eucharistic table. Let us treasure those times when our eyes are opened and our hearts burn.
