What really matters

The scribe asked Jesus what was the first of all the commandments. The scribe paraphrased Jesus’ reply and Jesus, hearing the man’s wise words, told him he was not far from the kingdom of God. Here lies the key to the kingdom. When we love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind and with all our strength, we are the means of unlocking the gates and so helping bring about the kingdom of God in our world. I am like a cypress evergreen, all your fruitfulness come from me, says the Lord.
