Single-heartedness
To share in the very life of Jesus requires a growing single-heartedness, not least because Jesus himself is a wanderer who begins each day from different starting points. He has ‘nowhere to lay his head,’ preferring instead to go where the Spirit leads him - that is part and parcel of his total self-giving, his servanthood.
If we waited until we were perfectly ready, or perfectly virtuous, to follow the Lord, we would in all likelihood never begin on the road to full discipleship – a path that is only made by our walking each day in Christ.
