Our reward

Today’s Gospel follows on from yesterdays and the disciples are reminding Jesus they have given up everything to follow him. He says they will be rewarded. We too will be rewarded, both in the consolations and joys of living our faith on earth, and in the joy of heaven. The reward though is not in ‘things’, but the experience of being drawn into the very life of God for all eternity. We experience this in limited ways on earth but will share in it fully in heaven.
