Being radical

Martyrdom was petering out and Christian life was becoming more mainstream. Anthony of Egypt leads the way in a radical surrender to God and a remarkable living out of the Gospel. He was a pioneer of what we now call religious life. Often we are called to go against the prevailing trends and follow Jesus with generosity. Thanks be to God for those people who respond with trust and openness to the voice of the Lord in their hearts.
