Seeing the Bigger Picture

The biblical equivalent of not being able to see the forest for the trees is, perhaps, not being able to see the message behind the miracles. Certainly, that appears to be true for the inhabitants of Chorazin and Capernuam. We too can get so tied up in the ‘immediate’ that we miss the bigger picture. So too can we get tied up with who is actually ‘performing the miracles’ – we focus on who they are and whether they meet with our approval rather than seeing the person behind them: Jesus.
