EVENING MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
Exodus 12:1-8, 11-14; Psalm 116:12-13, 15-18; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; John 13:1-15
Do this as a memorial of me
On the night before he died, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with the Twelve. Rather than being a Jewish Passover, it was the Supper of the New Passover – Jesus’ passing over – which was about to be sealed in his death and resurrection.
Thank you, Jesus, for instituting the Mass during the Last Supper and entrusting it to the Church as the memorial of your sacrificial death.
