Prayer or lip-service?

Our prayer ought to be simple and direct. We are to say what we mean and mean what we say; anything more is tiresome, even contrived.

God’s word never returns without having done what it was sent to do. If we say what we mean and mean what we say then, at least, our word conveys the truth.

Jesus taught us a prayer that is simple and direct. God will know whether we say what we mean and mean what we say when we pray it; God will know whether our prayer is true, or merely an exercise in lip-service.
