Being the lamp

My meditation on the Word of God can be thought of as bringing light to my soul. Jesus Christ already knows what is hidden in my soul but sometimes I do not. He is the person who can light up what is already good in it and help me bring to the light what is not so good. If I let the Word enter my very being then I become like the lamp, my light burns with the Word. Jesus Christ wants people, especially strangers, to see this lamp burning when they come into my life. Does the Word burn within me?
