Honours for Dr Mervyn Duffy sm

Congratulations to our regular liturgy columnist, Rev Dr Mervyn Duffy sm, for the honours bestowed on him towards the end of last year.

Bishop Patrick Dunn, Bishop of Auckland, wrote that Dr Duffy has been appointed as Acting Principal of Good Shepherd College from January 2017 'for a brief period while a review of the structure of the College is undertaken.'

As well, in late October, Dr Duffy was awarded the John Dunmore Medal for making 'an important contribution to knowledge of the early Marist missionaries in the Pacific.'

The John Dunmore Medal recognises 'major contributions to knowledge and better understanding of the part played by the French people and French culture in the scientific, economic, historical and cultural development of the Pacific.'
