Blessed be God

The Benedictus is Zechariah’s song of praise. We pray: ‘Blessed are you, God of Israel, for you have visited and redeemed your people … and you, little child, will be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Holy One to prepare God’s ways. To give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.’ God, may you accompany us in our search for peace in our world.
