Judges 13:2-7, 24-25; Psalm 71; Luke 1:5-25

O Come Root of Jesse’s stem, sign of God’s love for us.

The angel promises, ‘You will conceive and bear a son.’ Zechariah has trouble believing the message and is silenced until the child is born. Do we struggle at times to believe the promptings of the Spirit? We can ask for wisdom to trust and recognise the way forward. ‘O God, you have taught me from my youth and I proclaim your wonders still.’
