Keep your eyes on Jesus

The scripture passages today are difficult. They speak of heaven and hell, the fall of Jerusalem, the second coming, and the need to remain faithful to Christ no matter what comes. The Jews had a conception of three ages: the present age, the age to come, and in between was the day of the Lord. That day would be a terrible day, as Jesus described, full of persecution. But if we keep faithful to Jesus, as St Cecilia did, we may lose everything but we will never lose our souls. May we keep our eyes on Him!
