Am I ready?

Each Advent season invites us to psychologically prepare ‘as if’ the 2nd coming is near. Am I actually ready if Jesus was to come this Dec 25? The gospel reading hints at this final day - was I (my house) found ready… built on rock (standing) not sand (falling)? The issue is not if I prayed, or even listened to Jesus’ words, but “does the will of my Father” and “listens to the words of God and act’s on them.” It seems for Jesus that ‘actions speak louder than words’ at the end of our lives.
