Happy are they
In scripture, the “coming of the Son of Man” refers mostly to the return of the Lord at the end of time. The early church, it seems, expected this return quite soon after his ‘going away’ at the crucifixion. But from scripture we also know that to the Lord ‘one day is like a thousand years’ so we are not alarmed. To each he does ‘come’ on the day of our death – sometimes at an ‘hour we do not expect.’ Busy at our ‘employment’ (living our Christian faith) we need not fear a surprise arrival. Happy we will be!
