Job 3:1-3,11-17, 20-23, Psalm 88; Luke 9:51-56

Vinnies Day

We also frequently just say: S.V.d.P. The St Vincent de Paul Society was founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam in France. Ozanam drew on the life and work of Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) and the groups he founded to do works of charity for those in need: Servants of the Poor, Ladies of Charity, Daughters of Charity. St Vincent was a pioneer in training of seminarians.

The Vinnies or SVdP are quietly active in many areas of need. Pray for them and for all those they assist and help. Resolutely on the journey, confident in God’s love and mercy
