The miracle of faith

Why so few miracles? If Jesus is God why not heal everyone? Today’s reading shines a light on this question which has perplexed and angered many. Healing everyone would not lead people to acknowledge the truth about God’s plan for us revealed in Jesus. Many saw his miracles but did not believe; some were even cured and went off happily without a backward glance! We are not meant to stand around gasping, saying “why not me too!”; the miracles were performed to make us kneel before Jesus and say “forgive me Lord of all power, save me.”
