Jesus dies on the cross
Today we watch the son of Mary and Joseph carry his cross to the hilltop, and be crucified. He, the hope of so many, is put to death on a cross. For us Christians, the cross is the enduring sign of this act of love by Jesus. It comforts us in our own sufferings and trials, remembering that Jesus did this for us. It is the sign we use so often in our own prayer – asking, thanking, pleading forgiveness. “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
