SECOND WEEK OF LENT

Psalm 27; Genesis 15:5-12, 17-18; Philippians 3:17-4:1; Luke 9:28-36

Listen to him

All of today’s readings make a single point- put your faith and trust in God. In Psalm 27 we have those wonderful words, “Yahweh is my light and my salvation.” In Genesis we have Abraham who “put his faith in Yahweh.” Paul urges the Philippians to hold onto their faith in Jesus through him. And finally in Luke with the transfiguration, God the Father declares, “This is my Son, the Chosen one. Listen to him.” From the very first book in the Bible, Genesis,God calls us to find our home in him.
