Psalm 51; Jonah 3:1-10; Luke 11:29-32

Pray first

God called Jonah to go to the evil city of Ninevah. Instead, Jonah ran away and spent three days in a whale before he agreed to go. God knew Jonah was the right man for the job, even before Jonah did. Jonah reminds us that when we are faced with difficult situations, we need to spend time in prayer and reflection first, before taking action. We all love Jonah for his humanness in thinking he could run away from God.
