The call of Jesus

When Jesus called Levi, a tax collector, to follow him, in a way Jesus was also calling each one of us, for we are all sinners in need. Jesus had quite an effect on Levi. In Jesus’ presence Levi became more alive. He burst with generosity and put on a great party. Everyone was having a wonderful time, except the Pharisees who didn’t want to join in. Jesus, help us realise the fire of love you have for each one of us that calls us to be truly alive.
