Believing and doing

We read today the well known teaching of St James about faith and works. He exorts us to have faith and to show it through what we do and how we behave. Our Christian life is a continuous struggle to put this into practice. Sometimes we do well and at other times we fail. What matters is that we take up this cross each day, ask for the Lord’s strength, and try to do our best. The Lord has carried his Cross as well, so he knows the burdens we bear.
