The Holy Family

1 Samuel 1:20-22, 24-28; Psalm 84:2-3, 5-6, 9-10; 1 John 3:1-2, 21-24; Luke 2:41-52

Just the best

Joseph and Mary nurtured, formed and educated Jesus from his earliest years. The Lord Jesus passed the better part of thirty years living in that family environment. He gave two and a half years to public ministry. He then suffered, died and rose again for our salvation. Notice how the Father proportioned his Son’s time on earth. It tells us that nothing can replace family as the way to prepare people for life now and forever. Let’s pray for families. Jesus, Mary and Joseph intercede especially, we pray, for fractured families and families at risk.
