The power of prayer
Remember the catechism answer to “What is Prayer? Prayer is the raising up of the mind and heart to God.” There are many ways of praying, from formal prayer to wordless contemplation in the presence of God. We can pray together or we can pray alone. Developing a habit of praying is like learning to dance. We open ourselves to God and God graciously responds. God is always present and responsive to our prayer. Through prayer we become one in mind and heart with our God. Ponder on Jesus’ final prayer for us: “Father, may they be one as we are one.”
