Actions are what matter

For love to be real, it has to be seen in action. Words and talk are only half of our calling to live the kind of life to which Jesus calls us. In his letter, John tells us that our love is to be real and active and not words and talk only. In his Gospel, John records Jesus encouraging his followers, and that includes us, to make our home in Jesus as the branch grows on the vine. Only in this way do we avoid being pruned and thrown away to wither and die. Let’s think on the words, “that we love one another as he told us to.”
