The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (S)

Mary our model

Mary has much to teach us today! She was “favoured” not just because she was chosen to be the mother of God-made-human but because she had always been God’s faithful servant. Living her hidden life in Nazareth she was nevertheless unique in her daily listening to God and her total obedience to his promptings. And then one day God’s messenger asks her something mind-blowing! As she had always done, she says YES. I am your handmaid. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray that each day we too may listen to God’s whispers in our hearts and say yes to all He asks.
