Prepare the way of the Lord
As we move into this beautiful Advent time both Isaiah and John the Baptiser invite us to prepare for the coming of the Lord. Christmas is coming! So much to do! But there is a deeper meaning in this Advent: how can we open a space in our hearts and lives for Jesus’ Spirit to live and love in and through us? This may mean planning time for prayer alone or with our families, letting go of a long-held resentment or opening our hearts to lonely people who need company and love. It may even mean joining some group whose aim is to help the poor of our country or world. What will your response be?
