Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9; Daniel 3:52-57;
2 Corinthians 13:11-13; John 3:16-18

God so loved the world

Today’s readings give us so much encouragement: “The Lord, a God of tenderness and compassion”; “live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you”; “God sent his son ... so that through him the world might be saved”. How can we receive these promises and blessings? Everyone who believes in Jesus is promised eternal life. Believing implies acting on the teachings of Jesus, as Paul reminds the Corinthians: “help one another, be united, live in peace”.
