Come, Lord Jesus
‘Emmanuel’, a name that means ‘God is with us’. As Christmas day approaches, that name, Emmanual, is in our hearts and on our lips. A yearning wells up from the depth of our being. But for what? The light has already come into the world. It has turned out to be a long sunrise. We have seen a glimmer and we long to be bathed in the light. God’s clock goes much slower than ours. After all, it has only been a few thousand years since he made the promise. Come, Lord Jesus.
