Sharing God’s love

St Monica never stopped praying for Augustine’s conversion; her prayers were eventually answered shortly before she died. Through her faithful love the world gained Saint Augustine. St Paul speaks about motherly protectiveness for those he shares with, giving not only good news, but his whole life for them. Jesus invites us to evangelise and share the good news not with formulae or quotas but with deep abiding love. Am I willing to journey with people who are far from God’s love, being a presence of unceasing hope and deep prayer in their lives, for years if necessary? Ask for the Spirit’s help.
