Calling us deeper

Does Gideon’s question echo in your heart? Forgive me my lord, but if the Lord is with us, then why is … all this happening …? And where are all the wonders our ancestors tell us of …? It can be tempting to give up on God and prayer when faith is bewildering or confronting. Gideon remained in deeply honest dialogue with God. He spoke with the angel and transparently explained his concerns and fears. Angels are messengers of God. Who might be a ‘messenger’ to you? Be honest with God about your fears, inadequacies and needs.
