Mary, Help of Christians

“You are my friends, not servants”. There is great joy and love in friendship. Today we call on Mary, help of Christians. She has a a place in our hearts. We too, are in her heart. We are her Son's great friends. She knew the day-to-day worries of caring for him. The childhood illnesses, the high, midnight teething temperatures, keeping him safe, when epidemics took other children from their village. His grazed knees, his ventures into independence. She knew he belonged to God, so her responsibility was all the greater. We, as his friends, are her friends too.
