Acts 2:14, 22-33; Psalm 16; Matthew 28:8-15

Filled with awe

We can starve ourselves from awe. When we do, we fall into believing that it is all up to us; our days then increase in heaviness and drudgery. Our schedules demand, and every crisis we hear about overwhelms us. At such times it is so good to remember Mary of Magdala and the other Mary and how they allowed sheer awe to fill them. To witness the crucifying death of the one they loved, buried all possibility of wonder. Yet days later encountering Jesus raised them to awe. I hope you can have some time today to reflect back about your celebration of Easter. Beyond Easter eggs there is this life-giving mystery which makes sense of our dying and living.
