Ecclesiasticus 17:24-29; Psalm 32; Mark 10:17-27.

To give all

The rich young man we meet today in the Gospel was a good man, but the Lord invited him to give up everything he had and follow him. He couldn’t do it and went away sad. If the Lord asked this of us – could we do it? We would have all sorts of excuses, I know I would. Is our faith about giving all for God and finding security in him alone? Possessions and prestige all fade and decay. What the Lord offers us lasts for eternity.
