Ecclesiasticus 1:1-10; Psalm 93; Mark 9:14-29

Help my unbelief

The first reading says that all wisdom is from God, and is given to those who love God. This wisdom helps us recognise not only that everything is possible for God, but also that ‘everything is possible for those who have faith’. Jesus says that some kinds of evil spirit can be driven out only by prayer. In our efforts to become more Christ-like in our living, to turn away from evil, prayer which springs from faith plays a vital role.
