God loves

The readings tell us something about the wonder of love, God’s love, and call us deeper into that love. God knew us, chose us, and consecrated us before he formed us in the womb – from before the moment we were conceived; we are loved and cherished by God. And his love has been forever ‘patient, kind, never jealous … ready to excuse’ us, no matter what we have done, not done, and regardless of how badly we have failed. And this love is for all people and for all of creation. Lord, ‘rescue me, free me, pay attention to me and save me’.
