The Presentation of the Lord

It is the Lord!

Simeon and Anna, open to and guided by the Holy Spirit, recognised the baby Jesus as their Lord, and as a ‘light to enlighten’ the world. This child was the one who would ‘suddenly enter his Temple’, and he was ‘completely like his (sisters and) brothers so that he could be a compassionate and trustworthy high priest … able to atone for sins’. Lord, open the doors of my heart, so that you may enter in more fully!
