Not all up to us

How come Simon and the others followed Jesus so readily as disciples? Not only had Jesus effected a tremendous catch of fish but, just before this miracle, he had completely and instantly healed Simon’s mother-in-law. The powerful, loving presence of God in our lives makes the difference. The fishermen left everything to follow Jesus. Detachment from ‘things’ frees the way to allow God’s love and power to do great things in our lives.
