Amos 9:11-15; Psalm 85; Matthew 9:14-17

Happy are those who follow the Lord

Psalm 85 is a joyful hymn full of hope in the future of our salvation. It reflects the happy moment when the Israelite people returned from their exile in Babylon. Likewise, in the times when we may wander, we too can rejoice in God's saving help to return to faithfulness. The deliverance from evil, the pardon of our faults and the purification of sinfulness create the new people of God. The psalmist promises happiness and peace to those who are faithful.
