Friday 30 March
GOOD FRIDAY
CELEBRATION OF THE LORD’S PASSION
Isaiah 52:13–53:12; Psalm 31:2, 6, 12-13, 15-17, 25; Hebrews 4:14-16, 5:7-9; John 18:1-19:42
In you, Lord, I take refuge
In the celebration of the Lord’s passion and death, the Church celebrates the definitive defeat of sin and death which had imprisoned creation since the Fall. The key that unlocked the prison gates is the Cross and radical love of Jesus who entered into our sin and death and broke them open. Jesus’ love for us is stronger than death.
Lord Jesus, I take refuge in you. You are the Saviour of the world.
