Tuesday 27 March
Isaiah 49:1-6; Psalm 71:1-6, 15, 17; John 13:21-23,36-38
My cause was with the Lord
After Judas had taken the bread, Satan entered him. Jesus then said, ‘What you are going to do, do quickly.’ Judas departs into the night to betray him. Jesus’ troubled spirit becomes consoled. ‘Now has the Son of Man been glorified, and in him, God has been glorified.’ His hour has come. This is why he came. He is ready to embrace his passion and death. Judas’ malice will consume him. Peter’s repentance will reinstate him.
Jesus, in my powerlessness, I place myself in your presence.
